Southern Local High School has select Alyssa Rodgers the September Kiwanis Scholar of the Month.
Alyssa is the daughter or John and Shannon Rodgers of Hammondsville.
Alyssa is currently ranked 4th in her class with a 4.286 Grade Point Average. Upon graduation, she will receive her Green Hand and Chapter Degree from the FFA and her Honor Diploma.
Alyssa is president of the Spanish Club. She previously served as treasurer for 2 years. She is a Student Advisor for the FFA, a member of the Student Council, Varsity Club, National Honor Society, and Yearbook. She has served as her class treasurer for the past 3 years. Alyssa has earned over 10 college credits through the CCP program.
Alyssa is a 3-letter winner in Track and Field. She has earned the Rising Star Award in 2024 and Most Improved Award in 2025.
She has been racing four wheelers and ATVs since she was in kindergarten. She was the Girls Class National Champion in 2020 and 2021 and was the 9 Hours of Action girls class winner in 2024, 2025, and 2026.
After high school, Alyssa plans to attend SSA Weirton and earn her esthetician license.
