Welcome!! My name is Dr. Marcelina (Marci) Higgins, AT, ATC. I am a certified athletic trainer with 16 years of experience in college athletics. During that time, I provided medical coverage to 15 different sports teams while being dually appointed as a professor teaching athletic training education courses. I spent the last seven years serving as an administrator in the department as Head Athletic Trainer in addtion to my other duties. I’ve been fortunate enough to gain incredible experiences in athletics, medicine, and the classroom. I’m very excited to bring those experiences to the students here at Southern Local as I share my love for healthcare and medical careers in our new career technical education program offering athletic training and exercise science.
