SSAC SCHOLARSHIP FOUNDATION
The Salineville-Southern Alumni Community Scholarship Foundation was founded in 1987. The Foundation's mission is to recognize academic excellence by awarding scholarships to qualifying seniors. To qualify, seniors must have a GPA of 3.7 or higher and fill out an application. Applications are available in the Guidance Counselor's office. Selection is based on academics, ACT score, personal recommendations, and activities/leadership.
As of May 28, 2022, the SSAC Scholarship Foundation has awarded 383 scholarships totaling $356,500. (This amount includes $15,000 awarded in May to 8 graduates). The Foundation's goal is to continue awarding as many scholarships as possible to qualifying seniors.
These scholarships are made possible through fund raising and generous donations from alumni and other supporters (please click on “SSAC Donations Lists” for a list of this year’s contributors).
In order to continue to recognize academic excellence, we need financial contributions. Contributions are tax deductible. Donations of any amount are welcome. Make checks payable to: SSAC Scholarship Foundation and mail to Greg Sabbato, Treasurer; P.O. Box 2; Salineville, OH 43945. If you would like to give a one-time donation of $500 or more, or if you would like to establish a self-perpetuating scholarship, contact Greg Sabbato, Treasurer; P.O. Box 2; Salineville, OH 43945; or call 330-303-9709.
Currently, the SSAC Scholarship Foundation is managing seven memorial scholarship funds that provide yearly scholarships in the names of The Bentley Family; Calvary United Presbyterian Church; Eugene Gearin; Lenora Bentley Giles; William Robert Hays; Duane J. Marhefka; and Henry R. Salter, Sr.
